The one year anniversary of Christchurch earthquakes

It has been a year since Christchurch earthquakes. We had a memorial service at
Hagley Park today for those who perished a year ago. I was driving my kids to school
this morning and noticed there were red and black balloons (red and black are
Canterbury colors) and flowers on the traffic cones on the roads where some work is
currently underway. That made me smile. Kia kaha Christchurch!

クライストチャーチ地震から一年が経ちました。今日は、ハグレーパークで一年前亡くなった方の慰霊祭がありました。今朝、子供たちを学校へ送っていたとき、道路工事付近に置いているセーフティコーンに赤と黒の風船や（赤と黒はカンタベリーカラーです。）花が飾っているのを発見。思わず微笑んでしまいました。
頑張れ、クライストチャーチ！！

October 2011 - Cashel Mall partially open

the western side of Cashel Mall was open on 24th October 2011. We used shipping
containers (which are earthquake proofed) to make all the stores there. I actually like
this new look!!!

西側のCashel Mallのみですが、２０１１年１０月２４日に再オープンしました！全ての店舗はコンテナを使っています。私的には今のモールのほうが気に入っています！！


They are said to stay for at least two years. Why only two years???? I like them
better!!!!


少なくとも２年間は今のコンテナ店舗のままだと聞きました。何故たったの２年間？？？？　絶対こっちの方がいいって！！！

This is the new temporary Bus Exchange which buses can run through Litchfield and
Tuam Streets and is between Colonbo St and Oxford Terrace.
こちらが新しい仮Bus Exchange(市のバスターミナル）です。バスはLitchfield通りとTuam通りを通れるようになっており、Colombo通りとOxford Terraceの間に位置しています。

Happy birthday Alana!! The negative side of the life - I now have to pay an adult fare
for you!!!!



I wanted to
make an
apricot cake (my new favorite recipe)
but Alana requested me to
make another yoghurt cake - this is the fifth year....
So I make a
vanilla yoghurt instead of a
Greek one
and topped with crushed walnuts, boysenberries and strawberries.

こちらはラウンジ・・・・・そしてこの上の天井は・・・・

こんな感じでした・・・・・EQCが前回除去するのを拒んだ内部のレンガ造りの煙突が崩れたためこうなりました。

そして子供部屋・・・・・・・・・・・・隣のレンガの壁が突っ込んできて窓ガラスが割れました・・・・・・

子供たちが学校に行っていて本当に良かったです。

そして、ここが私がいた部屋です。この部屋もお隣のレンガの壁がやってきました。

お隣さんの壁は全て崩れ・・・・・やっぱりレンガは揺れにもろいですね。

大阪光のルネッサンス/Osaka Hikari Renaissance

It has been 8 years since 'Osaka Hikari Renaissance' started. It is getting more popular year by year. I went for a stroll after my work in December last year. It was pretty!


「大阪光のルネッサンス」が開催されてからすでに８年。年々人気が出てきているように思います。仕事帰りに、私もふらりとお散歩がてらにあるいてきました。とっても綺麗でした！






場所は大阪の中ノ島。中ノ島は、昔からの商業の町、水都大阪として栄えていた地域です。







It was at Nakanoshima in Osaka. Nakanoshima symbolizes Osaka aqua metropolis which has
been seen as a central to business for many years.





キリスト教国でもない日本ですが、なぜかこういったデコレーションは本場より規模が大きい！！（笑）





Japan is not a country of
Christianity but we always throw a marvellous decoration like this. Wonder why........

Japanese dish!!/日本料理！

What is this in the photo??? This is my favorite dish, 'Yuba'!!! I checked Yuba in an
English dictionary and it says 'a dried soy milk skin'...............which sounds sooooooooo weird...... It just takes like a slice of Tofu. I had this when I was in Japan last December.
この写真にのっている食べお物は何でしょうか？？？そうです！私の大好きな湯葉！！日本人以外には湯葉料理はあまり馴染みがないと思い、辞書をひいてみると・・・「乾燥した豆乳の皮」もどきの説明が・・・・・（涙）響きが悪いので感じが悪い！！味は、お豆腐の薄くスライスしたものとほとんど一緒です。去年の１２月日本に行った時に食べました。

これは、「ごま豆腐」です！！むっちゃおいしーっっっ！（歓喜\＾＿＾/）
This is a
sesame Tofu which is soooooooooooo
nice!!!!

そしてそして、こちらが豆腐田楽。おいしいです！！！！
Then this one is called 'Tofu Dengaku'
which means baked Tofu
daubed with miso 　　(soy bean paste). 　¡Delicioso!!!!!

こちらは、豆腐サラダです。いろんなお野菜も一緒に入っていてさっぱりとしています。
This is Tofu
salad. 　There are many veg－etables in it with Tofu and 　it is refreshing.


The restaurant is in Kintetsu shopping center at Kyoto station.
このお豆腐料理屋さんは、京都駅隣接の近鉄百貨店内にあります。

Marimba Festival/マリンバフェスティバル

My eldest daughter Alana is a member of Marimba club at school. There was a Marimba Festival the other day and her groups was invited to play.


長女のアラーナは学校のマリンバクラブ（マリンバ－木琴の一種）に入っています。先日、街でマリンバフェスティバルがあり、アラーナのグループも招待されました。

Alana played three different marinbas in the show. I don't know much about the
difference between each marimba but it all sounded so nice!
アラーナはコンサート中、３種類のマリンバを弾いていました。お母さんはあまりマリンバについて知識がないのですが、３種類ともとっても綺麗な音でした！


She had a bit of solo part. She played it without any mistake. Well done Alana!!
演奏中、アラーナだけが弾くソロのパートがありました。間違えずにちゃんと引けていました。
アラーナ、上出来！！

Hamner

Went comping a couple of weeks ago to Hamner which is within 2 hours drive from Christchurch. We camped at Mountain View Top 10 Holiday Park because they have a pretty reserve next to it. They also have a motel, units, and cabins other than tent sites (http://www.mountainviewtop10.co.nz/Booking/ServiceLine.aspx?IDSup=3336).

This was our home!!

The kitchen is quite tidy.
